Groundwork Target: Wellbeing

Target Wellbeing logos new

Target: Wellbeing aims to help people across the Northwest live healthier and happier lives.

It’s a portfolio of over 90 projects that focus on:

  • increasing exercise
  • encouraging healthier eating
  • promoting mental wellbeing

It’s made up of projects delivered by 67 local organisations, benefiting over 55,000 people!

Funded by £8.9m from National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund, it’s managed by Groundwork Northwest for the benefit of targeted communities across the Northwest of England.

Target: Wellbeing is made up of three elements:

  • Ten local programmes in boroughs ranging from Burnley to Ellesmere Port
  • Two regional programmes – one focused on older people and one on prisoners
  • A project called the Regional Support Network that co-ordinates local and pan-regional activity, building capacity through a series of events, networking and a rolling training & development plan

Target: Wellbeing includes a huge range of projects from those that promote cycling to school children to chair based exercise for people over 50, and healthy cooking sessions for families to mental health projects around worklesseness.

Visit: www.targetwellbeing.org.uk for more information about the projects, to access a resource library of public health and third sector related material and to view events and training organised by the Target: Wellbeing Regional Support Network and other related organisations.
